pDP
|
Approximately
how many people join per tour? |
|
`DP
|
In principle,
we will serve one tour for two customers or more, but still possible
even for one customer if requested. Normally there are 4 or 5 people
average per group for sightseeing, 3 to 4 people for trekking.
However, the maximum number of people for a trekking tour is 7 people
due to some security reasons.
If there is a request for more than 8 people for a trekking tour,
we will assign an additional assistant for sure so we can take care
of all the people that participate the tour |
|
pDQ
|
Are tours
to be provided/served everyday? |
|
`DQ
|
In principle,
we will provide them everyday as long as there are customers that
wish to participate. However, due to weather situations/conditions
or natural disasters, we might need to postpone/cancel trekking tours
or change their courses/routes when we agree with customers. In addition,
there is a chance that we might not enter countries like Laos or Myanmar
for sightseeing tours due to situations of their national borderline.
We provide several kind of information in this web site, and please
feel free to contact us if you need more detailed, most current and
reliable information.

pDR
|
By when Do we need
to make an appointment for a tour?
|
|
`DR
|
We can arrange most of
tours for you as long as you can book by one day before the tour.
However, there are exceptions such as Bamboo raftings and horse
ridings, and we would like to have one week for an early arrangement.
We might not be able to book one for you even if you come the day
before
.For other tours, you might be able to join them if those tours
are already set and available.
|
|
pDS
|
Which language
do tour guides speak? |
|
`DS
|
They speak
English and in a plain English, even slowly so non-native speakers
of English can understand them enough. Even in the case that customers
do not understand English, they can as professional guide tours safely
as well as smoothly. |
|
pDT
|
Where do
we stay during trekking tours and what do we wear while seeping? |
|
`DT
|
You will stay
at Bamboo houses or highest wooden houses of hilltribes.
Our tours do not provide guest houses instead you will home-stay at
houses of hilltribes. Those places are one for men and the other for
women. Due to this reason, we might not be able to provide your requests
for individual cabins or rooms.
When you stay there, Blankets and sleeping bags are to be provided.
Places you stay at are basically simple and might only keep off the
rain. Especially the winter season from December to February, it gets
colder so much. We recommend that you bring enough clothes if you
visit the winter season. It might be more comfortable if you bring
sleeping bags.
While sleeping in the mountain areas, we also recommend you wear long
sleeves and long trousers all through the year. |
|
pDU
|
Is it possible
to take a shower at places we stay at during trekking tours? |
|
`DU
|
There are
no powers like electricity, gas or water and sewerage due to that
people at colonial areas have kept the way of their traditional living.
Shower supply is like a quick bathing, and no hot water supply.
Some courses might stop by natural hot springs and you might be able
to enjoy them. In this case, we recommend that you bring bathing suits
with you.
|
|
pDV
|
What is
a bamboo rafting? |
|
`DV
|
There are two types of
bamboo rafting. The one starts at an elephant camp located in the
"Mae Kok" river area, and a boatman from the Karen tribe
operate a raft boat with a bamboo pole skillfully. This boat has
no motors but you can enjoy untouched and rich natural environment
at an easy pace through gentle flow of the river. We are the only
company that can provide this bamboo rafting tour in Chiang Rai.
While bamboo rafting, you might get wet a bit. We recommend that
you wear things that can get wet like bathing suits or shorts.
For the other tour, it starts at Thaton located in the Chiang Mai,
and a bigger raft is equipped with motors and roof as well. You
can enjoy meals and even stay over. We can arrange private tours
that include trekkings around the basin of the "Mae Kok"
river during a rafting tour upon your request.

belongings as well upon your request.
|
|
pDX
|
What is
it to take care of personal belongings or valuable goods? |
|
`DX

go to trekking.

goods) by yourselves.

|
Is it true
to take a hot spring after trekking? |
|
`DPS
|
Yes, it is. There are
several hot springs around the Chiang Rai area.
We especially try to
make efforts to arrange hot springs at the end of the days of trekking
tours for customers who stay over-night. It is really great to have
one after you get exhausted of mountain walking.
We recommend that you
bring your bathing suit with you since hot springs are in the open
air.

travelers coming from other countries. Of course, if you are willing
to have the same nationality for your trip and notify us in advance,
we are able to arrange private tours for you.

for come from Germany, England, northern Europe, the rest of Europe,
Israel, U.S & Canada, Japan, Korea and other Asian countries

pDPU
|
If we apply
for your tours of J Travel, are we the only group during tours? |
|
`DPU
|
Yes, basically
you are the only group to go for tours.
The tours we provide are all our original, and we are the tour owner/host
or responsible for their arrangement. We do not commission nor do
someone tour arrangements. One of the reasons is that our tour course
is different from other tour agencies for villages to visit. For instance,
other tour agencies might include souvenir/jewelry-shopping or "commercial
tours" to hill tribes villages in their tour trips. But we will
not do so in our tour trips unless it is requested. For your information;
a tour trip that we will arrange/host might include other participants
who apply for our tour through our affiliated companies or travel
agencies. However through either case, tour contracts should be
made between participants and us. We will welcome all the participants
for our tour trips as our (J. Travel) guest. There is no difference
in a tourtrip charge due to different companies you apply at. |
|
pDPV

How tough
are trekking tours? |
|
`DPW
|
We provide trekking tour
services as mountain hiking or glen walking at altitudes between
700m and 1,800 meters above sea level. It is often described as
jungle, but vegetation of the northern Thai is tropical rainforest,
and there are lots of deciduous forest during the dry season. In
addition, it can be considered mixed forest of Southern east Asia
and East Asia, i.e hitting banana bush following bamboo grove.

|
|

We recommend

belongings and make your both hands available.
|
|
pDQO
|
Can elder
people join trekking trips?
|
|
`DQO
|
There have been many
of them that join the tours. It seems that age does not matter very
much, but daily exercise matters instead. We recommend to take good
stretching exercises in advance to avoid any possible accidents.
